Maggie
Maggie was at the Camarillo Shelter by way of the Simi Valley holding facility. I followed her to Camarillo where we took this photo. There was something about her. She had the most beautiful eyes. She was calm and quiet, leaning against the kennel bars. She seemed so sad. She came in as a stray and no one came looking for her. She needed help. I knew when I snapped this photo we had to find her a home. She touched my heart. We had a call a couple of days earlier from a woman who was looking for a little one. Her husband had passed away. We went in and rescued her and called Betty. She was surprised it happened so fast but said, "Bring her over. I've been waiting for her." When they met, it was like they had never been apart. They found each other. Neither one would be alone. Forever companions.
